How Does Relay Conference Captioning Work?

PARTICIPATION OPTIONS:

  1. If you prefer to speak directly into the discussion or conference call, please join the audio conference bridge provided for all participants.
     

  2. A text entry window is provided for you to type to your captioner. Your comments/questions will be spoken on your behalf by the captioner at the earliest break in the discussion or otherwise where appropriate. As the captioner is speaking on your behalf, you will see your original text to the captioner added to the real-time streaming display

RCC Participant Prefers to Speak

Captioner joins audio conference bridge, listens and transcribes conference call.

 

Deaf/hard of hearing RCC participant reads the conference call captioning using a computer, tablet or mobile device.

 

The RCC participant speaks directly to conference call participants through the conference bridge.

The RCC participant types their responses and sends via “Message to Captioner”.  

 

Captioner reads aloud the RCC participant’s responses to conference call participants.
